 Magic Book Professional Edition is our totally loaded Guest Book application. It has all the things you might expect from any Guest Book available today. It allows visitors to add their comments as well as name and email address to the book in an automated process. These are then displayed in order of input for all your visitors to see. But that is where any similarity with others ends as we have added features not found on any other Guest Book anywhere.

Over the last few years, Spam has permeated every part of the internet experience, and lately guest books have also become involved. In just a few seconds a malicious Spammer can add hundreds or even thousands of entries to your guest book, then leave you to clean up the mess. The latest version of Magic Book makes your job much easier with the addition of 2 features: post approval and form submission verification. The first simply allows you to verify that a post is genuine before allowing it to be seen in the guest book display. Even if you do get spammed, your sites visitors will never see it, and our new streamlined entry deletion process makes removal quick and easy. Also, since it is sometimes possible for spammers to just send form data to your guest book, we have added a simple check to make sure that only the guest book form itself is being used to submit an entry.
Another addition to the latest release is a much improved Pseudo HTML, or PHTML, editor that allows visitors to format thier guest book submissions in more ways and with more precision than ever before. Not only have we added new formatting options, but now adding that format only requires you to simply highlight the selected text and click the formatting option of your choice.

Since spam is not the only issue concerning your guest book, Magic Book Professional also has two other features that will help keep the amount of time you spend administering this application down to a minimum: HTML removal and the ability to Ban Bad Words. Many people enjoy ruining the display of your guest book by adding a few bits of HTML to an entry. With Magic Book, you have the option of stripping all tags before they are entered in the database, saving you from having to edit the entry manually.
Also, now you won't have to worry about those out there that enjoy putting crude, expletive-laced additions in your guest book. You simply create a list of words you want banned, and the program automatically removes them. Left in their place is another word or set of symbols you select.

Another nice feature is the ability to select the questions asked on the "sign book" form. While the visitors name and their comments are asked by default, you may also choose to ask for their email address, web site name and address and a heading or subject for their comments. All of these are selected from the admin menu and may be made either optional or required.
Other features include: the ability to send a Thank You email, having a notification email sent to you, you can manually edit or delete entries, purge older entries by a date range you select, and much more! All in all, this is one great little app!
